Creating your OST & Mindset - Part 2: Objectives
Okay. So I’m not exactly the most goal-oriented or results-oriented person you will meet. But I’m trying here.
That said, I’ll be making my OSTs more specific. And also further analyze my underlying motives for this, as well as the mindset with which I approach my goals.
Objectives
To be a fully nomadic (totally physically absent) manager by JANUARY 2013 (Yes, NOT...

Creating your OST & Mindset - Part 1: Draft
In a recent workshop I attended, it was discussed that planning requires Objectives (The Having = Results), Strategies & Tactics (The Doing = Actions)…at the same time, we must not lose sight of the Being (or our views/mindset).
I don’t mean to preach as if I already walk this talk, but this is something I just need to get down so I remember it myself.
Sometimes we just get so...

The Benefits of Workshifting →
This article is almost exactly one year old, and while the rest of the world has yet to catch on, a lot of businesses and individual get to practice workshifting, and this is something my company employs as well, sort of.
We have 2 full-time employees based in the “home country”, and 1 part-time employee based elsewhere in the world with a 12-hour time difference.

Late Nights &/or Early Mornings
GAH.
Been up since 3 or 4 a.m., working.
Time check is now 9:05 a.m.
I had planned on maybe getting some shut-eye

I can’t believe I’ve been truly...

Tumblr vs. Wordpress
I started a Tumblr vs. Wordpress discussion on my personal Facebook and was amused by the ensuing discussion. Most of the respondents stated Wordpress as a serious...

Building creative communities & creating fully functional “pocket” offices.
Interesting alternative for one-person businesses or freelancers. Check out the links within the article. It would be brilliant if there were several of these across the world. It’s genius!

The Nomad Manager
I gave myself a day to think about a name for this new blog of mine, and I think the above is a pretty concise description of most of the content that I’ll be posting here.
Most of my posts will probably be personal entries on how I am achieving (or not lagging behind) my goal to be a fully nomadic manager by 2013. I imagine that a large number of posts will also involve links to tools,...

Nam nam nam
Got back from a roughly 5-day trip to Vietnam last Wednesday, July 20 at around 4:30 a.m.
The trip was largely a food trip, with us just wishing we had more stomach space to accommodate all the food we could order. From spring rolls & pho to carpaccio, wine & cheese, steak & pasta to cupcakes & pumpkin pie to more pho and more carpaccio, wine & cheese, eats at Vietnam seemed...
