The Humble Yet Unexpectedly Smile-inducing Offerings of Battambang, Cambodia
Prior to my intended visit to Battambang, all I really knew was that it was an old town, with old buildings, and really, if that’s all it had to offer, I was okay with that. I have no problem at all with idle towns, and I love walking through bruised and battered streets. Little did I know that I would be delighted by other simple attractions this town had to offer.

I love places that look old, worn, and beat up, and Battambang is just that kind of town. I haven’t taken so many pictures of a place as I have in one afternoon’s stroll through the streets of peeling buildings with battered wooden shutters in Battambang, Cambodia. :)

Traveling Solo Again
I did my first border crossing (and also my first and only solo traveling until now) back in October or November 2006, when I took a really lousy train from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. And that did nothing to make me any less anxious about crossing over to Thailand from Cambodia.
