Come join us for a garage sale for travelers, by travelers on:
October 6, 2012 (Saturday), 11AM-6PM
Venue: Moonleaf Tea Shop, Maginhawa Street, Teachers’ Village
Organized by yours truly (as a result of brokeness from my 2.5-month solo trip around Asia, and prevention from falling into debt after my Dumaguete-Bacolod and India trips this October), this Travelers’ Garage Sale gathers together 5 traveler-bloggers, Nomad Manager, Wanderrgirl, Thysz, Walking Lens Cap, All Things Artspiring, on a noble quest to fulfill our passion for travel, while providing you with lots of cheap options for clothes, books, bags, cameras, film, suitcases, and other things you might find useful for your travels as well. :)
Here’s just some of the items I’ll be selling.
BUT WAIT, there’s more! :D
Capture The Colour: A Travel Photo Blog Competition
It was fun looking through old travel photos and reminisce and see how my photography varied with the different cameras I used throughout the years in an attempt to find suitable entries to the Capture The Colour contest. :)
BLUE

[Taken with my LX5 in August 2012 at the Ock Pop Tok / Fiber2Fabric Gallery in Luang Prabang, Laos]
Once in a while, I’ve come across an admirable brand or company on this trip through Cambodia, Thailand & Laos (so far), but none has left as indelible an impression as Ock Pop Tok, a progressive and principled textile-weaving company in Luang Prabang.
GREEN

[Taken with my Black Slim Devil and Provia film in February 2010 of water lilies outside the walled city of Intramuros in Manila, Philippines, a site / city often neglected by travelers, but definitely worthy of your time, especially if you go on an animated tour with Carlos Celdran.]
YELLOW

[Taken with my LX5 in August 2012 at Vientiane, Laos at a buddhist temple]
WHITE

[Taken with my departed Nikon D80 in June 2010 at the peak of Mt. Pulag in Benguet, Philippines]
RED

[Taken with my Black Slim Devil and Velvia film in July 2010 at the railway station of Osaka, Japan]
I’m also nominating:
- @WeRSoleSisters
- @redfiretrees
- @avalaunched
- @madamnica

Lubitel 166B TLR for sale at the Nomad Manager shop!
The Lubitel 166B TLR (Twin Lens Reflex) is the medium-format predecessor to the equally iconic LOMO LC-A compact camera, prized for its simplicity and ability to produce professional-looking images.
The Lubitel 166B is one of the prettiest cameras on the planet, as far as I know. It may be bulkier than your average camera, but what it lacks in compactness, it more than makes up for in beauty and character. It’s hard to part with this camera because this is among the more expensive ones I acquired, but I got it anyway out of sheer prettiness. - Jen

Vincent Moon - On Creating Art
02.25.12 Conversations on the road with Vincent Moon.
Was in the car with Karlo, Bert & Bea on our way to Zambales from Manila. :)
Shot with my LX5 and no extra audio recording equipment (obviously). Haha.
Here, he talks about art consumption and creation in the age of the internet, easy-to-use gadgets and applications.
I’ll be uploading more snippets of our conversations in the coming days/weeks. :D
View my other Vincent Moon videos (or other videos in general) here.
