D-I-Y Project: Happy cups & not-only-for-Christmas Christmas lights for Anteroom Sessions 2
Weeee!! Arts and crafts! Haha.
I love creating things with my hands, as long as they don’t take too long, and this certainly didn’t take too long at all (which is perfect because we had little time + a small budget for Anteroom Sessions 2 decor).
I also love looking at spray paint and all those other nifty spray things at hardware stores (from regular spray paint to satin finish to metallic finish to stained glass finish to frosted glass finish and on and on), and I’ve always wanted to do things with spray paint but usually don’t have much reason to. Until now, yay!
For this project we used:
- “Christmas” lights (that yeah, apparently you really can’t buy from department stores during non-Christmas months like March)
- Nice cups
- Spray paint (we used mint green and gold)
- A huge tarp so that you don’t make a mess
- A sharp cutter
- 2 red velvet cupcakes, 1 lemon cupcake and a pound of carrot cake — you can’t make happy lights without ingesting some happy food :)
First, you lay the cups out on your giant sapin.

Next, you spray.

Spray.

Aaaand you spray a liiittle more…

Let them air dry, and eat cupcakes while waiting.

After enjoying your cupcakes, your cups should be ready.
You can then start cutting X’s on the bottom of the cups, where you will push your little “Christmas” lights through.

Then you insert the cups onto your “Christmas” lights.

Goof around.

And then go back to work and seriously insert more cups onto your “Christmas” lights.

Plug your lights in, and then, ta-DAH!

With lights as cute as these, you don’t need to wait ‘til Christmas to hang them and turn them on! (Ooh, kinkeh.)
We took inspiration from Heima store interiors for this project. :P
And yay to Nica, Pauline & Steph for being such eager arts & crafters. :D
And thanks to Pauline for documenting our little craft project!
To “Christmas” lights all year ‘round,
Jen
Anteroom Sessions is back with a bang!
And kids, it’s time to “excite yourself without touching yourself”, as my uber classy colleague Nica says here (warning: rated R).
I already wrote the press release for Anteroom Sessions 2, which you can pretty much find on the FB event page, so I’ve not much left to say here, really, other than I’m so excited every time I think about it. Sometimes, Nica and I are just carrying on with our work, and I’ll burst out with a “Shet, excited na ako mag-Anteroom”, or I’ll close e-mails with all sorts of excited-ness vs. the basic Cheers/Cheerios/Cheerios with milk/Etc.
Again, Anteroom seems to always get bigger than we initially imagine. But yeah, hopefully, we always keep it small enough to feel like a relatively intimate, but super special/awesome/spectastic/orgasmic hangout with all our Punchdrunk Panda friends. :) *blush* :”>
This will probably be the last BIG thing we’ll do at PdP for a while, as we’ll be indefinitely semi-lying low after this (first said here), so I really hope we’ll have a good turnout, and that we’ll get a really get a good response from the event, because pretty much everything we’ve been working on for the past 2 months has been all for Anteroom Sessions 2.
So yeah, be there, or be a trapezoid!
Anteroom Sessions 2 is happening on March 31, 2012, 4pm-11pm at Cubao X.
RSVP and invite more friends here.
Ante-Anteroom Sessions 2 with Selena Salang a.k.a. Slow Hello :)
A short teaser of our upcoming skimmer design team webisodes as well as our upcoming Anteroom Sessions 2 featuring Selena Salang, one of the members of our 5 skimmer design teams (shoes will be launched during Anteroom), a.k.a. Slow Hello, and also part of Ang Bandang Shirley (both acts also set to perform during Anteroom). :D
Thought of getting my camera too late into Selena’s impromptu session, so yeah, super teaser lang. :P

Anteroom Sessions is all about showcasing budding independent brands and talent. And as a company that passionately supports creativity through their graphic-designed products, Punchdrunk Panda acknowledges others who actively follow their creative inclinations, and provided this avenue to share their passion with others.
With the success of last year’s Anteroom Sessions, Punchdrunk Panda will be holding another leg of the Anteroom Sessions at a bigger venue to bring a bigger crowd to the event.
Anteroom Sessions 2 will be held in partnership with home & lifestyle brand Heima at Cubao Expo on March 31, 2012 from 4-11pm. In keeping with the idea behind Anteroom Sessions, there will be indie music performances, pop-up shops, paper crafts, and webisodes screenings about the design teams for Punchdrunk Panda’s new skimmer collection, which will be launched during the event. Punchdrunk Panda’s skimmer design teams include JP Cuison & Saab Magalona, Ge Mapa & Selena Salang, Kitkat Pecson & Patricia Prieto, Kasey Albano & Arriane Serafico, and Robbie Bautista & Cheyser Pedragosa.
The first Anteroom Sessions started as a modest idea to show off some Punchdrunk Panda sample products at a milk tea place while screening photo shoot webisodes and having a DJ (a coaxed boyfriend) mix some tunes. Gradually, the idea grew and grew, and with everyone who decided to come on board with Punchdrunk Panda for this event, Anteroom Sessions became bigger than the team imagined.

Yeeha! :D
Heima’s MT Washi Tape Product Launch this Saturday!
Can’t help but post an entry about it because all of Heima’s posters / pubmats are so…well, pretty!
They’ll be exhibiting the experiments of selected crafters (including this clueless one) from the Washi Craft Project they’ll be holding earlier in the day. :D
Also happening then is Heima’s Design Discussion + Party, which seems very promising; a veritably worthwhile way to spend you Saturday afternoon.
Looking forward to the weekend!
Wishy Washi,
Jen
